ROAD REPORT

We’ve made two horse fairs since last writing. The Mid-West Horse Fair in Madison, WI is always a favorite of ours to go to. The crowds continue to remain large, and again this year, we gave out over 200 Bibles to people choosing to surrender to Jesus. We again baptized some people in the lake there on the grounds. We thank God for the fruit He continues to let us harvest for the Kingdom. One of the most gratifying things is to return year after year and visit with people who have given their lives to Jesus there in years past and they continue to walk in Him. Fruit that remains is definitely the heartbeat and will of God. The other horse fair was The Equine Extravaganza in Richmond, VA. It was their first year to put this on.  Those involved did an awesome job. It drew in a fairly large crowd for a first year event, and  they had several clinicians of excellent quality. There were close to 100 people for the Sunday morning church service. That is an excellent beginning. I can’t remember how many cards we passed out, but it may have been pretty close to half the audience. We shipped out packets with the 6 CD New Believer’s series and a Bible to each one who filled out a card. Because of the cost of fuel and the time it would take to be on the road, Ray and I chose to fly to Richmond instead of drive. It was FAR more restful for us and gave us a full 4 days at home that would have been spent on the road. The down side of flying is I have to borrow a horse once I get there, instead of having my own to use. You never know what you may get. Well, God was sure looking to bless me. There at the horse fair was “Button”----a friend of ours we had met a couple years ago at the AL Horse Fair. She and her husband raise Friesians (Amazing Grace Farm in Nahunta, GA) and they own a BEAUTIFUL Friesian stallion named “Jilte”. Yep-----you guessed it!! I got to ride him for the church service! Oh, yeah---I was in TALL cotton!! I’m telling you, a sack of potatoes would look good on one of these horses! What an awesome privilege to ride such a magnificent horse. (That’s Jilte & me below.) We have jokingly said that when God was creating horses and wanted to show off a little------
He made Friesians!

We just got back from spending a week with the teens from Grace Christian School in Flagstaff, AZ. It was their annual International Student Convention. Kids who make it to this have excelled in their regional competitions. Students from 17 foreign nations, as well as kids from across America, come together to compete in 147 different events. 2,741 kids in all. Our kids did awesome! The most grueling event is Pace Bowl. It’s kinda like Jeopardy, but tougher, in that anyone can answer from either of two teams. Split seconds count as to who hits the buzzer first and a wrong answer costs the team 5 valuable points. It takes a lot of knowledge in several areas and nerves of steel. Emily Jordon, Kurt Hofmann, Aaron Jennings and Tyger were this year’s team. Up against 40 some odd teams, they came out 2nd over all! That’s an incredible accomplishment. Our students finished in the top 15 in most all of their events. Their composure was amazing as they went from event to event having to remember word for word speeches that are several minutes long and then off to some other event such as archery or tennis. Several honors were won by all 7 kids, and Tyger’s essay on “God’s Special Forces” got top honors out of 93 entries! It was great to see kids from literally around the world with such quality. Looking at the masses around us, it’s easy to lose hope in people. But as always, God has His elite---those He can use---they are a remnant, yes, but they are there. God only needs a handful to change the world. Want to enlist?
