We had a great time taking the teenagers at Grace Christian School to Palacios, TX for their regional convention. It’s a time of competition with other schools in south TX. plus nightly services. This year there were only 6 boys who went and yet they walked away with so many awards that they still won the overall academics award, second in platform events and again this year, the reigning pace bowl champions. To accomplish so much when competing against schools with 20 to 30 students is truly an honor.

I had the honor of doing a concert horseback for the dedication of the new arena at Still Creek Ranch in Bryan, TX. It’s a wonderful work there, taking in kids who need a home, love, guidance, discipline, a work ethic and raising them in a ranch family environment, giving them an education and bringing them to the Lord. You could tell the quality of work that it is just by the kids themselves. They were a joy to be around.

We did an outdoor worship session at Fredricksburg, TX. It was an awesome evening. The presence of God was very tangible. Several churches were represented there as people came together simply to exalt Jesus under an open sky. People received supernatural healings from the Lord simply by being in this atmosphere. It was great and we were all pumped because you could literally feel the smile of God upon it.

As always, the Miles City, MT. Bucking Horse Sale is a memorable event. Working together with Eldon and Carol Towe who pastor Living Way Church in Miles City, their youth band, plus several other churches and Cowboys With A Mission (CWAM) from Meteetsee, WY., we did street concerts Fri. and Sat. nights. CWAM performed some excellent dramas on the street. The work load was great but there were so many who were willing to put in the long, hard hours that it took to set up and tear down a huge stage area with stacks of speakers, a huge video screen, cameras, spot lights and stage lights, instruments, etc.
About 10:00 Sat. night it started to rain and everyone worked so hard to cover equipment and wait out the rain just to tear down and work all night long resetting up everything in a different location for the church service Sun. morning. The whole weekend was a spiritual battle. Prayer warriors not only were praying weeks before but were in another building praying the whole time we were on the street. As soon as we pulled into Miles City, my horse started showing signs of tying up so he spent the weekend at the vet. clinic getting cared for while I borrowed another horse from Rod and Sandy Lee. (A very NICE horse.) We literally had to fight for every inch of ground we stood on but it was WELL WORTH IT! People were coming by both Fri. and Sat. nights asking questions, listening and just taking things in.
Sunday morning a large crowd showed up for the church service and we gave out every Bible we had as people all over the arena were raising their hands! The presence of God was felt by everyone. Some of the people we talked to on the street the nights before who were partying, came Sunday morning and gave their lives to the Lord! It’s easily the most demanding and tiresome event we do all year long. It’s hard to express what it takes out of you but the closeness that you feel with all the other people involved is truly wonderful and we have always seen God stretch forth His hand in a mighty way.
