Matt. 8:20 gives Jesus’ answer to a young man who offered to follow Him…. “foxes have dens and birds have nests, but the son of man has
nowhere to lay His head”.
God woke me up at around 2 in the morning with that verse along with an instant download to its meaning. He was speaking about much more
than stating He didn’t have His own house. He was speaking His
heart. Jesus is the HEAD of the church….which is His body and yet how
many of us give Him our entire being to be totally ruled by the mind of Christ?

WE are that piece of ground….
that tract of land that Jesus desires
to rest His head upon!

is: a piece of ground, a tract of land. Our bodies are made of dirt….WE are that piece of ground….that tract of land that Jesus desires to rest His head upon! Remember when Jesus was baptized and the Holy Spirit in the form of a dove came down and RESTED upon Him? The Holy Spirit was able to REMAIN on Jesus because He was so utterly yielded to the will of the Father. It is one thing to say that I’ve been baptized in the Holy Spirit, and quite another to be able to say that the Spirit RESTS ON me!
That’s another thing entirely.
Jesus is looking for “ground” to “lay His head” on! So far, in all reality, the church has been a headless body and Jesus has been a bodiless Head. No wonder we walk lacking in power and heavenly authority! In all honesty, I have to admit that I am ruled more by my own head than His.
My thoughts are not His…..
His are much higher….and WAY different!

A headless body and a bodiless head is a freak.
God created them to be joined.
I truly believe that we are approaching an “intervention” by God,
(as Wade Taylor says it). A headless body and a bodiless head is a freak.
God created them to be joined. There is a prophesied time when the 2
are joined EXPERIENCIALLY….not just legally. Over and over throughout
the Word, God clues us in to a “3rd day” when we… His body…is transformed….perfected….made complete. This is NOT speaking of “some day when we die and go to heaven”…this is something that will happen
while the body of Christ is still walking on the earth.
(Hosea 6:1-3, Luke 13:32 for starters)
John 2:1 says it perfectly: “And the 3rd day there was a
marriage”. The Bridegroom and the bride coming together,
the Head joining in actuality with His body!
The result of this is briefly described in Is. 60. The world
WILL SEE His glory and it will be seen on His people!
He WILL have a people whom He can LAY His head on!
